Week 4

Thanksgiving-eve....everyone made a fruit turkey centerpiece and Oreo turkeys. This was a fun day!
Next week we will have our ornament exchange and Katelyn Rutt will demonstrate something special in the kitchen! Mrs. Melanie will also demonstrate Chicken-pot-pie and hopefully you will all go home after class and make dinner for your own families!!! Also, looking forward to having Mrs. Mount back to help us get started with our quilt bags. :)

Homework:
Bring 9 homemade ornaments to share with the class!
Bring quilt supplies
Have ingredients ready at home if you plan to make dinner for your family (see ingredient list below)

Do you want to make dinner for your family Wednesday evening? If so, then make sure you have all the ingredients ready before class on Wednesday (DO NOT bring them to class). I will demonstrate how to make Chicken-pot pie and you can go home and make it for your family. Just make sure you already have everything you need and you should be able to make this for your family. My ingredient list below should feed
4-5 people. So, you might need to double the ingredients, depending on the size of your family.

Here's what you need:
4 chicken breasts
2 cans of cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz each)
2 cans Veg-All (14.5 oz each)
1 small can of Evaporated milk (5 oz)
Pillsbury Pie Crust dough. (this is the refrigerated dough that comes with 2 rolls per box)
Salt and Pepper

On Tuesday evening (or Wednesday morning) boil your chicken breasts until cooked thoroughly.
Take chicken out of broth and set aside until cool enough to handle with hands.
Use kitchen scissors and cut the breasts into small pieces.
Place in container with lid and refrigerate until after class.

After the class demonstration you should be able to go home and complete the chicken pie. You could also  prepare a salad Wednesday morning so you'll have it ready to serve with your chicken-pot pie.
