Today, we also learned a few laundry tips. Did you know that egg whites will remove gum from clothing? How about sunscreen to take out permanent marker and liquid paper stains? If you have a zipper that doesn't slide correctly, try rubbing a bar of soap over the teeth of the zipper? Interesting information!
We also watched Savannah demonstrate crescent rolls with apple butter which was so delicious. They were gobbled up almost immediately! Savannah did great even though she had a pretty big distraction during the middle...sorry about that Savannah! Mrs. Melanie made broccoli cheese soup and mayonnaise biscuits. She also made OYSTER STEW which probably won't be the most asked for recipe this year! :)
Lydia demonstrated a really neat orange peeler gadget which was pretty awesome.
Also, Mrs. Mount had all of us learning more about our quilt bags.
This is Soup and Bread month. I need a couple more of you to demonstrate for me this month. A quick soup demonstration is what I'm wanting. Holly will be making something next week and Katelyn on the 18th. Anyone available for the 25th?
Homework:
*Bring a soup recipe to share with everyone.
*I also want each of you to start thinking about complete meals you can start making for your family.
I'll be talking about organizing some meal planning this upcoming week so in the meantime begin thinking about meals you already know how to cook and side dishes to go with it.
Next week we will be making homemade laundry detergent!
